What can we do about the plastic problem?

Our Mission

To mobilize communities, Philadelphia and beyond, to protect their environment through citizen science, education, and action-oriented cleanups focused on mitigating plastic pollution.

Our Vision

Empowering passionate environmental stewards to lead communities towards a healthy, thriving future, free from the burden of plastic waste.

Blessed to have journeyed with our Philadelphia Emerging Contaminants Initiative (PECI) student fellows over the past two semesters. After developing research questions on how PFAS, microplastics, and toxic elements vary across land use, social vulnerability, and water distribution networks, these wonderful student fellows went off on their merry way to sample, analyze, and report their findings. I couldn’t have asked for a better team!
